About Me
My name is Deborah O' Driscoll, I was born in and grew up in Ballincollig but have been living in Bandon for 6 years. Here's a little bit about me so we can get to know each other. As a special needs parent I have been heavily involved in advocating for children's needs and doing the fundraising/organising to make sure these needs are met. The current government seems to have forgotten about them with many unable to attain school places this year.
I have a deep love for éiRe, it was born in me 38 years ago and has only intensified since! Walking along the beaches and forests of our beautiful island is one of my favourite things to do. Spending quality time with family and friends is paramount to me. I want to regain the sense of community that Ireland has lost.
I am still obsessed with GAA, if Michael Collins was my first love then hurling was my second!
I yearn for the safe éiRe we all grew up in. I want it out of the hands of people who are only interested in selling it out to the highest bidder.
I want to be a real voice for the people and to continue the fight for freedom that our ancestors so valiantly fought for.
Why I'm Standing
"About two years ago, I started to notice that something was stinking. The more I researched, the more I realised that it was actually completely rotten to the core. The whole establishment, from a government that does not have our best interets at heart, to corrupt judges, to guards beating people in the street for peacefully protesting their sovereign rights, needs to be dismantled. These people are traitors, only concerned with personal preservation and wealth. I began to start attending and organising protests.
While attending these I visited many different towns and cities and was horrified to see our own homeless being passed over, cold, wet and hungry on the streets. This, while our government destroys our fields and historical fairy forts to build homes for strangers to our country. I started to work a lot with the homeless from that point and I vow if elected to fill EVERY modular home with our own people. There are Irish families living in hotel rooms and worst still, in cars.
Our children are emigrating because they know they will never afford a home, nevermind any sort of life here.
The housing crisis is out of control and yet still, the government holds the doors to éiRe open.
The woke ideology being indoctrinated in to our children in schools is perverted, it's abuse and I want it abolished.
The cost of living in this country has made most working families have to choose at some point between heating or eating.
I want every traitor in Dáil Éireann and beyond to be held accountable and brought to justice.
I've never had an interest in politics but the things I've mentioned lit a fire inside me. A fire that can only be quenched through change. "
Local Issues
"The traffic and constant road works in Bandon are gone beyond a joke. Businesses are suffering as people avoid the town.
Bullying in this town is disgraceful with very little help from the people paid to deal with it.
There are no warnings from current sitting TDs and Councillors about the attempted child abductions from the playgrounds. The women being attacked walking home. The children being touched on buses, all by the guests of the government yet still they allow them to flow in. This government does not care about you or your children. They have forgotten they are representatives of the people. "
