About Me
I am Michaela Keddy from Newtownmountkennedy. Central leaning Irish Nationalist. I'm a student that's just fed up with the establishment parties thinking they represent me or people like me. They don't! I'm passionate about many causes and strongly reject the empty words and false promises from regime politicians that have consistently been in power and yet have consistently failed to represent us. We need genuine action, and genuine Nationalists elected to government!
Why I'm Standing
The reason I'm running is because Ireland is suffering tremendously and I am tired of feeling helpless about it.
My generation and many to come after us are being neglected by the government on a systematic level. We are locked out of the housing market and that's just the tip of the ice berg!
We are gaslit with propaganda if we keep voting in the SAME people that created the mess in this country, that we will have a bright future. simultaneously ignoring all the problems the youth and even older generations are facing now because of their constant incompetence. From housing and homelessness to suffering family businesses, farming, health care, transport etc. It all matters!
The same government that's trying to convince students we will have a bright future if we vote for them, are the same politicians that can't do basic maths and allocate public money appropriately. Or even answer the simple question posed by the people of this country when asked where is the missing money that's unaccounted for?!
I am a firm advocate for free speech and I feel the need to protect that right for all, even for those that disagree with me. I welcome open discussion and debeat. While the establishing parties can't handle someone simply questioning their policies. I am running because I am honestly tired of watching the normal every day person that dares to pose a logical question to the government be lambasted and propagated as an extremist. Just for being a concerned citizen or simply having common sense. Time and time again I witness candidates from Fine Gael, Sinn Féin and Fine Fáil and even people before profit shamelessly insult their voter base because they don't want to be questioned. They don't represent me they represent silencing the people of Ireland.
I am against the globalisation of this beautiful country and stand for the protection of Irish national sovereignity and the Irish identity. Our ancestors fought hard for us to have our independence and to legally be allowed to speak our language and embrace our culture. I am proud to be Irish and I'm not going to sit down and be quiet while the establishment makes a mockery of the Irish people through their approved S.p.h.e books and also condemn the Irish flag flying high on Irish soil!
Irish creatives, entrepreneurs and skilled workers from various sectors should be given more opportunities for growth in their home country, instead of having to go abroad to find success. Irish people should be able to become successful in their own country but this current government has created the perfect recipe for brain drain. Workers need a livable wage.
Local Issues
Immigration: the mass immigration which Ireland is currently facing backed by both government and “opposition” parties is putting Ireland under strain. Our services, housing and culture are under threat from mass immigration.
